Iran: Golshifteh Farahani Posing Nude Means No Return To Homeland

In great controversy, Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani poses nude in Jean-Baptiste Mondino’s short black and white film “Corps et Âmes” (Bodies and Souls), on body image and liberation from the physical realm of flesh towards the transient, spiritual body, free from societal constructs of beauty.

Libre de corps et d’esprit — Free of the body and the spirit 
N’ayant subi de pression que de moi-même — Not having submit to my pressures
Je me livre corps et âme — I deliver to myself the body and heart
Vierge encore je succombe — I am a virgin (innocent, naive) still, I succumb 
Je rentre dans le désordre — I return to the disorder
Mon ADN éparpillé à jamais — My DNA scattered forever
J’entre dans la danse — I dance away from myself
Évadé de moi-même — I escaped as the prisoner of myself
Mon art sera de jouer — My sole art will be to play
De vos rêves je serais la chaire — In your dreams, I will be the stage
Je ferais vibrer les mots subtils — I will make vibrate the subtle words
Comme des fruits sur ma langue — Like the fruit of my language
Je vous donne ma peau — I will give you my skin
Ensanglanté, encensé, comblé — Bloody, maddened, to the brim
De larmes et de rires — Of tears and laughter 
Je couperais votre souffle — I would cease your breath
De cris, de lumière — From all shouts,  all light
De foule je veux me souler — In a crowd, I want to get drunk
Votre impossible, votre inavouable —Drunk from the impossible, the unavoidable 
Revêtirons mes traits — That will veil my features
